Card and Board Games

Very popular activity held every 2nd Sunday (except for Dec. and Feb.), from 3-5:50p.m. at
Lake Miona Rec. Center. Casual games in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. You can play
a favorite game or learn a new one. If you know how to play a game, please be willing to
teach it to others. If you have a special game, bring it along. Also bring your own beverages
and snacks. After the session, a group usually proceeds to dinner at a local restaurant.
Important to wear your name tag as you may be sitting at a table with several people you
don’t know.

Committee provides club members who are going through trying times, i.e. illness, surgery,
hospital/special care facility confinement, accident, family death, etc. with thoughtful cards
and in some cases gifts and visits. Committee meets "as needed" - there are no scheduled
meeting dates.
Dining Out
A popular activity, this group enjoys breakfast, lunch or dinner out once a month. Each month
is a different restaurant "Committee" people are needed! Contact Julie Ayotte @ 350-2087.
Executive Golf Scramble

Rules for participation in the Sumter Singles Executive Golf Scramble:
Executive Golf
Village ID required.
Telephone number requested.
You may sign-up to play in the scramble by signing up at Palmer’s Restaurant following our
monthly golf scramble or at our monthly meeting.
You must check your tee-time and the golf course either by telephone at 753-4653 or online
if you have a subscription to thevillages.net. It will be accessible on Wednesday prior to the
Saturday event.
If you must cancel your tee-time call the Committee Person in charge for that month. Do not
cancel your own tee-time. The Committee Person in charge will be listed each month on the
Web.
You must sign up by the response date. All late sign-ups will be used as a substitute when
needed.
The event will be a four person scramble. Each participant’s drive must be used at least once.
Men may tee off from the back tee or middle tee. Women may choose to tee off from any tee.
If possible two carts per foursome will be scheduled.
We will meet at Palmer’s restaurant at 11:30 after the event. This time is subject to change in
January 2008
Impromptu Walking and/or Impromptu Golf.
Contact: The participants of these activities will work from a shared list of names
(one list for walking and one for golf) The lists will include your name, phone number, Village
and email address. When a participant wishes to either walk or golf on the spur of the
moment, he/she will use their copy of the "shared list" and form a group to do so. If you wish
to be a part of these activities,
Morning Walking
Contact is
Group walks around the exterior of Sumter Landing Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Everyone walks at his/her own pace. They meet at TooJays (Sumter Landing) at 9:00 a.m. (in
the summer months the meeting time usually changes to 8:30 a.m.). Friends and relatives are
welcome. After the walk, most participants will remain at TooJays for breakfast.
Movies and Dinner

Important Note: You must call Geri before noon the day before to confirm you will be dining
with group. Group meets once a month in the theater lobby ½ hour prior to the movie. The
selected movie & date are posted on our Web Site and shown on the sign up sheet. The
restaurant is chosen depending upon the number of people. Check the newspaper for show
time as in the past we have had changes on the day of the show.
Pickleball

This favorite sport of many will be played on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:30 p.m.
at Pimlico Rec. Center.An Active and fun-loving group, they meet for dinner on Wednesdays
(beginning Oct. 3rd) after Pickleball, at a restaurant of choice. It is recommended that new
participants take the Pickleball lesson, made available by the Villages Rec. Dept., before
participating. There is no need, however, to be a "seasoned" player. Check our Web Site;
pick up one of their current Newsletters at the sign-up table; or call Dave for updated
information.
Polo Paties

The next Polo gathering will be on Dec. 2nd (IPS Canada Finals). We will meet at 12:30 p.m.
at Polo Field on main floor, left field. Wear you Sumter Singles Badge. Admission is $3.00 per
person and parking is free. Matches are at 1 and 3 p.m. Contact Gloria for further information

Shuffleboard

New activity. This group meets on Thursdays from 4:00p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Lake Miona Rec.
Center. Play in the shade! There is no commitment, however it is helpful for you to sign the
sign-up sheet so we know approximately how much equipment to prepare. This is fun and
gaining in popularity!
Social Hiking
